I ran the treadmill at the gym tonight because I didn't want to run in the cold. About halfway through my right knee was achy. I had to really breathe through it to finish. I never really figured out how far or fast I go because I run the neighborhood and it's not exact. Tonight I ran a 15 minute mile! That sucks! Mayberry's if you read this just pretend you didn't read that part! I did almost 2 miles in 25 minutes. That's all I could take for today!
How is everyone else?

May I Recommend.....?
Yesterday's show was AWESOME! They had her come up with her top 10 'Superfoods' and make a menu with them. MERCY, it looks GOOD! Click HERE to explore the episode and let me know if you try any of the recipes! PS: I make the lemon broccolini all the time using regular broccoli and it's FAB. I've also tried her carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, and her healthy mac and cheese (look in the recipe archives and try them, too! Trick your kids with healthy mac & cheese--mine LOVE it).

Not quite the day I excpected!
I went out with the kids and the dog to the park today to do my running. They all wanted to bring bouncy balls and we walked since I thought It would be stupid to drive 2 blocks. I regretted that right away when the ball Ben was carrying went into the road and he ran after it. I had to run after him with Rincon and it was so freakin windy. Half my neighborhood stopped their cars and some came out to help. We could barely stand up straight because of the wind. Grandpa Jim met us at the park and watched the kids so I could run the track and I decided to run with RC (the nickname Drew gave Rincon). There was way too many dogs in their backyards barking at Rincon and I couldn't hold him back. The shock collar wasn't working so after one time around the track chasing after Jack and Belle wanted to run with me and the dog going crazy we gave up and went home. I didn't even attempt it again today since we were so busy and I have been having some bad stomach crampage! I am stopped up I tell ya! I got some Activa to help get me regulated. I am really disappointed in how the day turned out. I mean it was my first official long run and I didn't even accomplish it! Drew is going to run after the kids go to bed. I am so mad because it's suppose to snow tonight. So Maj, I AM still alive. I will say though that I ran much better today amazingly and I really could have kept going compared to Monday and Wednesday. I am really impressed with this program.

STRETCH STRETCH STRETCH!
Today was my day off and streching day. I actually wanted to walk or run or something! I did enjoy the break though. Tomorrow I run 3 miles. I don't know how far I'll get before I'll need to stop! I may be dead afterward! HA HA!
I KNEW THAT! STRETCH IS HOW YOU SPELL IT! I WAS PROBABLY SO TIRED FROM STRETCHING I WASN'T PAYING ATTENTION TO SPELLING! LOVE YOU MAJ! HA HA!

Where does it come from???

Feeling confident
I did my walk/xt tonight with Rincon again. This time it was at least 20 degrees colder then 2 nights ago. I was freezing! I have really been enjoying the time to myself (is that bad?!) and paying more attention to the thoughts in my head. Actually on my run yesterday to keep myself going I kept saying to myself (and it really was helping) "I'm making my life better, I'm making my life better" over and over. It helped me focus on all my progress this past 6 months and how much better things will be 6 months from now. I know that the physical part of it helps level out all other aspects. It's like the gospel. When that is in line then other things fall into place. I am definitely in a good place right now.
HOWEVER- I just jammed my inner thigh into the door of the boys dresser thing! OUCH! I am worried for tomorrow. Thank goodness tomorrow is a stretch day! I am ready for my 3 mile run on Saturday. Well, maybe not!

Tonight's Jog
In the bag baby! I jogged 20 minutes without stopping and then walked 5. I am excited for my walk tomorrow! I am excited for everyone who has joined up. Feel free to blog ANYTHING! This is your blog too! I don't care if all you did was the stairs in your house today or that you didn't eat any sweets. It's a start right? I have to say that I have been arguing with myself about doing my daily schedule but after I am done I am quite happy with myself. I haven't had hardly any Dr Pepper this week. Maybe 2 cans. Not too bad for me!!! I love being in the Chub Club!

Chub Club
I don't need to post a picture because every picture of me for the past 6 years has been a "before" picture! I suppose we can start by counting down the back boobs--right now I have three: one from the bra, the middle one, and the "muffin top" one that slides forward and becomes my baby belly flab. YUMMY. I'll be pickin' those suckers off one by one over the next year. I have lost (only) 12 pounds since October, but I am hoping to get going to about a pound per week now that my thyroid is working with me...so 40 pounds by new year? That's 182 (Laura, I'm right there with you at 222!). I can dooo eet! I cut my number one enemy, COCA COLA down to 8 oz per day, but I have fallen off the wagon. I'm climbing back on, but I am keeping it as my only vice/reward.
Running? Ha. I'm starting with walking. If I walk down the street, up the hill two blocks, up 10th street, then back down the hill that's about 7/10 of a mile, plus it's a butt cruncher, so I'm gonna start with that. My heart says "YES!!!" to running, but my legs say, "Ummm, no. I am NOT carrying this marshmallow on a toothpick at high impact, not even a slow jog. Drop 20 and we'll talk about it, girlfriend." So I will listen to my legs for now, but legs, the heart needs to work up to the 9-10 minute mile, so you better get it in gear because you are spending next winter on the treadmill.
When I make a yummy healthy meal, I will post the recipe for y'all either here or on my blog, ok? For right now one of the best starts to my day is 20 ounces of water and a smoothie made with 1/2 cup yogurt and a splash of skim milk, plus a cup of bule berries and a banana. If you use a banana that has a few freckles, it will really sweeten up the yogurt. I'm not a huge fan of dairy or sweet breakfasts, but I drink this like it's medicine because it's made of power foods and it really does help my day. Also, the half-lemon, whole cucumber, whole apple, handful of spinach and squirt of honey smoothie is awesome (I drank it for lunch for 8 days), but it gives me the burps. Go to Costco and invest in a huge bag of blueberries--you deserve to give yourself a power food each day!! Cheers and good luck, amigas.

A nice walk
Tonight for my walking/xt I took Rincon for a walk around the neighborhood. I actually ended up walking an hour. My friend Lorien met me half way through and we talked. That always helps working out. Rincon was so happy to be out and walking around outside. I know we have the big backyard and he has been running around back there too but nothin beats a nice dog walk!
Tomorrow I am running my 15-30 minutes. I may do the track at the park thing again. Good luck everybody!!!!

How is this for contributing......
I weigh 224.5 pounds! No picture to post as of yet, just saying my weight was hard enough! I am happy to say that on Monday, March 24 I started the patch. It's really not that hard. I thought it would be way worse. So in 8 weeks I should be totally smoke and nicotine free...woohoo! Darrin and I are also going to start playing softball with a girl I work with. A lot of people I work with are going to play as well. Should be fun. I love you guys....Good luck with the weight loss!

My first run!
Today at lunch time I decided to take the kids to the park for a picnic and they have a track there. I ran for 20 minutes before I felt like my body was going to crash! I could still see my kids and it worked great. I didn't want to wait until this evening when Drew got home. I always procrastinate! I think things will work out much better if I get on the ball early in the day! I'm not saying 5am or anything but we'll see how it goes. Drew also ran at the gym before he got home from work and was pretty tired. I think we're in for it! I also think I may need to get me some of them yellow shorts like Pauly and use deodorant on my thighs so they don't rub together! ha ha! If you haven't seen Juno yet then you won't get that!

I'm a Walker
Jill I know that you said marathon, but I am not a runner. It hurts my knees. But I can walk fast. Thats what I am going to do. I am going to start walking once the side walks are clear but I am sure going do what miss Allison said. The new tv show on tlc is really good I watched last night. I think that if I walk and do what this guy says I will be able to lose weight. good luck with running.

ON YOUR MARK...
It's time I get started and get serious! I started a new years resolution but after 2 weeks (yes, 2 weeks) I sorta gave up! I didn't keep a log although I have a friend that invites me to workout a lot. It just wasn't enough for me. I know I have too much of a love for Caffeine and my precious DP but I know that just has to go. I ran Track and Cross Country in high school 12 yrs ago. I liked it. Maybe even loved it! I wasn't the best at it and came in last more times then I would like to admit! I was 110 lbs though! After my adorable 4 kids popped out of me the lbs just took over! I lost and gained back 25 lbs this past yr. I was quite disappointed to see the lbs come back on so fast like they did. I was so stoked last summer when I stepped on the scale. Now I want to puke! I am really fired up to start running and so is my sweet Drew. Tomorrow will be our official day to begin. My Cousin's wife Lacy and cousin Brent have stuck with a marathon training schedule because they are in fact running marathons! I loved the Idea of the schedule and Drew and I looked it over. We believe we can stick with it. I wish we could actually run together but we don't exactly have a nanny to take the kids for us! I am also the kind of person who enjoys running outdoors and not on a treadmill. I think I can be disciplined with this. I want anyone and everyone who wants to lose weight and get into better shape to join this blog. You can be as discreet as you would like. You can have your own exercise regimen as well. However if you feel like the Marathon running schedule is for you then rock on! My thanks to Lacy and Brent for their encouragement! I sent Emails out to a lot of you I thought would be interested so you can become authors. If you don't get an email just holla back and I'll invite you!
